I am curious about this as well. Went in the winter time and it's a bigger lake than I thought. What are the best places to park>?

Constance lake has some good panfish, i have better luck fishing near the middle of the lake in the deeper holes but if you find the crappie you should hook into some big slabs. You can launch from constance lake rd and don't have to pay for parking if you drive on the ice.

The crappie seem to bite better in the evening/night time there, I've caught a bunch of 12-13 inchers over the years

Pretty well what Lipless stated, take the main road down to the lodge and there is a small ramp.
I have always parked & driven onto the ice when possible to save crowding the lot, Also had my shack there last year so generally drove.
Non-stop panfish and Snot rockets once your on them so can be great fun.

I have been there multiple times in the past three years, and I have never caught anything! Moved around, drilled lots of holes, change baits, small/medium/large minnows on all kinds of presentations, and even my flasher has never seen anything!

I keep hearing that Constance lake is a great place to just catch smaller pike, perch, and crappy. Yet I have yet to catch, let alone see anything in all the times I have been there! I guess I just have bad luck on that lake!

Hey I just moved out to Kanata so I took a drive out to the lake yesterday to see how far it was. I was thinking of going back to try it out since its close. I saw some shacks and people fishing afew hundred yards out from the launch. Just wondering about the water depth in that area and what fish id be targeting. Anyone got an advice for me?

Hi guys.
You are right it is an amazing lake to take kids ice fishing.
Yesterday I went with my kids and we had a fun day.
We got 4 good sized pikes.
For kids it is amazing to use the tip ups with minns to catch the fish.

Don't know what you're driving there lad, or what the conditions are like this year, but if you can get away from the crowds it's always a good start. It's mostly small stuff in that lake though. But if you're in to a bit of a crap shoot head north into the main lake basin past the points, with small live minnows on set lines and a jigging rod too, specially when a school comes through. ;)

Cheers

I don't know what I am doing wrong then! Every time I have gone, I have been skunked. Saw nothing on the Flasher, and never lost a minnow, and not even a single bump! Next time I do, I will try to go between 5-8 feet of water like suggested.
