Crappie Fishing in QC - Report

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Crappie Fishing in QC - Report

Post by Jimmy_1 »

I had the chance recently to tag along and wet a few lines for pan fish on the QC side.

I gotta say it was a total blast and non-stop action pretty much the whole 4 hours I was able to get out.

We set up at 6:00AM and were landing fish within minutes. The Vex showed steady amounts of crappie and perch the whole time.

There were no real HUBCAPS that day but it was still nice to get out and wet a line before baby comes and my fishing time dwindles dramatically.

Here are two crappie of what where typically coming out the hole..

Toward the end of the day the famous "5 more minutes" hit. I had a solid red bar appear....I was using a mini buckshot tipped with a Gulp Maggot. Ultralight was bent RIGHT over....

This guy hits! Legal fish in QC and a great way to end the day!

Hopefully Easter weekend I can get one last kick at the lakers before having to call it a season!

The panfish are a blast for sure, and that largie is a beaut. 'Legal in QC' isn't entirely accurate though. Don't try and keep one out of the Ottawa River lol!

Good fishing dude. Good luck on the lakers!

Awesome outing Jimmy!

Nice Largie! Love when they hit the little panfish lures and your rod bends in half! They're getting fiesty!

Good luck on the Laker! I've still yet to pull one out of the ice. Only ever caught one DR and I don't consider that really 'catching' it

Nice to see ya escape the kid-dom to be able to fish for a few hours!

Lots of ice where you'd be going for Lakers, at least 2 maybe 3 weeks left, hell maybe a month.

Good Luck!

Thanks everyone

Ahhhh Kid-dom.....

We are at the 36 week mark today.

Mom is sore, tired and cranky.....and frankly basic things are becoming too difficult for her. So Jimmy is doing a heck of a lot more domestic chores than ever before....don't ya love 10pm grocery shopping?

As she has gestational diabetes this baby will likely be BIG and likely she will need to be induced. She's managed to keep her blood sugar under control but having to run to 2-3 appointments a week with an infant can really drain ya....even if she is a great baby and behaves amazingly.

I don't produce any babies under 8lbs....my PB (to date) was a solid 9lbs + and 22"+
We shall see if he manages to break that. They are guessing by now he is over 7lbs with 4 weeks left. We will know more next week at yet another ultrasound....

If I don't get out I can say for the 4 times I did manage to get out that this hard season was the best in a long time! Despite the cold and the less than frequent outings.

I had a blast! Dano, Lvace, Marko and Fishaholic are great lads and we always had a blast! Looking forward to more adventures boys!

If I don't. I wish all the best and am quite content to fish vicariously through everyone else here!

Good luck this weekend! If I didn't have so many family engagements I would be out with you!

Carp and gar season will soon be upon us!

Tight lines all!

Wahoo! Personal best!
You crack me up Jimmy! We need to get a fish in this year on the dark side!

We do indeed Kerazzy

With a new baby, an infant and a wedding....time may be REAL tight for me to get out.
Not off the table man, just may be tough.
