Reaction Innovation - Beavers
Reaction Innovation - Beavers
I have had a bunch of these in my tackle box for years now.
I have NEVER had a strike on them.
Is there a trick to how to rig them? Wrong rod causing wrong presentation etc?
I know they are a good bait and want to use them a lot more this year.
Any advice is appreciated!

How are you fishing them?
Try to use them as a trailer on a jig or texas rig them with a 4/0 hook and a weight suited to the depth and conditions you are fishing.
If anything is possible, maybe your presentation is a bit too fast, so try to slow down. Crawl it along slowly off the bottom, giving it the odd pop and letting it settle back down. When in doubt, dead-stick it.
You should catch something on them. Largies inhale these type of baits usually...
Oh yeah, you should also use a heavier braid if you're throwing these into the sloppy stuff. In fact, would recommend that. Throw these into the nastiest places you can find, and you should see your catch percentage increase.

Bass looks over and sees a Reaction Innovation Bait. Wants to inhale it, but notices its not attached to the PROPER rod.....Bass changes its mind and swims on

Fished it every way stated above and caught fish. It's gotta be something with your presentation. Too fast, too slow. Or too much "human sent from handling it?
Maybe try a smsebt spray?

I fish these fellas Texas rig style and I as RJ said, let it fall on its own, and someone else mentioned work them slowly over the bottom with just a little 'pop' now and again so they mimic crayfish.
Try our little honey hole we have spoke of before on the dark side. He works real well there.

If it isn't on a proper set up (likely my case) the presentation is off and as such the bass won't go for it.
