Fall Fishing

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fall Fishing

Post by Scum Frog »

What Species do you like to target in the fall?

In Sept I love targeting smallmouth...the big ones come out to play.
In October ( in between bowhunting for deer & my annual moose hunting trip) I like going after walleye.
There is just something about the cool weather that brings upon a feeding frenzy with the big fish!

I've never targeted muskies in the fall, as I am still a newbie, but sure as hell I'll be out there this fall putting in my time. I am determined to land a monster out there, don;t really care how cold it may get as long as there's fish to be caught!

Definetly Wallies in the BOQ and hopefully some steelhead at Port Hope :!:

SnagThis...if you make it to BOQ you'll have a blast, just with the shear size of the fish :!: When they show up it's amazing :!:

Get Bacon out in his new ride :!:

My fishing will slowly and steadily be replaced by hunting as the fall progresses. Until then we'll keep fishing for whatever bites

I used to love fishing for salmon up on Manitoulin Island and then muskies and bass on the Ottawa. But about ten years ago I took up bow hunting and been doing that ever since. We go for moose in September and then October 1st deer hunting starts and runs until December 31st. I used to always put my boat away after the Labour Day weekend. But I promised myself that this year I will try to fish as much as I hunt in the fall. Especially try the walleye run in BOQ in November. Hopefully if I don't find a partner to go with, someone from fishawk.net will accompany me. I'm really getting back into fishing again since last year I barely wet a line because of a shoulder injury. Hope this year will be better! :?
