In Sept I love targeting smallmouth...the big ones come out to play.
In October ( in between bowhunting for deer & my annual moose hunting trip) I like going after walleye.
There is just something about the cool weather that brings upon a feeding frenzy with the big fish!
I've never targeted muskies in the fall, as I am still a newbie, but sure as hell I'll be out there this fall putting in my time. I am determined to land a monster out there, don;t really care how cold it may get as long as there's fish to be caught!
Salmon, browns, and fall CHROMERS!!!!!This is like a dream come true at this time of the year, all other tackle gets a nice relaxed sleep and the float gear comes out to be worked like a truck!!!!
I used to love fishing for salmon up on Manitoulin Island and then muskies and bass on the Ottawa. But about ten years ago I took up bow hunting and been doing that ever since. We go for moose in September and then October 1st deer hunting starts and runs until December 31st. I used to always put my boat away after the Labour Day weekend. But I promised myself that this year I will try to fish as much as I hunt in the fall. Especially try the walleye run in BOQ in November. Hopefully if I don't find a partner to go with, someone from fishawk.net will accompany me. I'm really getting back into fishing again since last year I barely wet a line because of a shoulder injury. Hope this year will be better!
