Loomis (IMHO) makes some of the best technique specific rods ... this frog rod will work wonders.

If your on a budget Abu vendetta 7 " heavy works just fine . Around 70$ and pretty light for the money. I use a 8"2 telescopic st croix avid I think x heavy ... Love the telescopic priceless
