Baie Clement and Baie Lachober

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Baie Clement and Baie Lachober

Post by homerj613 »

Was planning on trying to hit 1 or both of these bays on the weekend or next week while I'm on holidays, was just curious if my Ontario fishing license is sufficient, I know I can fish the Quebec side of the river with my Ontario license but are these bays considered part of the river or do they fall in Quebec jurisdiction?? been out on the river a few times now this year with not much luck, I have no problem pulling bass out of White Lake (been fishing there for 25 yrs) but the Ottawa river is kicking my butt.

The OT River is tough as of to date. I think that the rule you need to check is to not cross a bridge, then you're out of range. Anyways, that is what I was told. So in these cases, you should be good for both. Be careful when going into the Lochaber because there are tonnes of stumps and could heavily damage your lower unit if you are not on the right track (especially when you get in).

Isin't Lochaber off limits after a certain date? Something about it being a Conservation Area....

Correct me if I'm wrong. I was thinking of doing the same this weekend.

And yes, I agree; the Ottawa River has been tough so far.

Thanks for the info guys, was planning on feeling my way around with the trolling motor anyways, I have a long shaft outboard and there is no chance in hell I would be using it in that shallow anyways.

You must have the full Ontario license to fish the Quebec side of the Ottawa. The Quebec MNR does not recognize the conservation license (nor does the Ontario MNR recognize theirs). Otherwise the previously mentioned conditions apply.
