Casting deck on 14ft aluminum boat

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Casting deck on 14ft aluminum boat

Post by DipfromPAinOttawa »

Decided to start a project on my 14ft aluminum Lowe that consisted of building a nice little casting deck along with a little storage door to allow for odds and end things to be stored. It took approximately 4 days to complete, while only working on it here and there for a few hours out of each day. As being a stay at home father with a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old doesn’t allow much room for working on projects only earlier hours prior to them waking up then a few hours when they take their afternoon naps. Keep in mind this was also my first time ever working with wood and cutting it :o All in all it didn’t turn out to to bad. Had it out on the Ottawa River yesterday and only seemed to loss 2 mph on my over all speed. I’ll take that 2 mph speed loss just to have a nice area to stand and fish from 8) …. Hope you all enjoy the photos.

Its a really good feeling, even better now that I have a nice little platform to stand on while fishing for bass, pike and musky  and a nice little compartment for battery storage along with other odds and end things.
