July 15th fun fish - Taylor Park

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

0 water pressure, and telltale is steam. I'll figure it out in the morning. I'm so used to recreational fishing now, I threw a 2 1 / 2 pounder back before I remembered I was supposed to keep it.

Ouch. Hope it's nothing major Lorne. The rest of us had fun. Another 2 1/2 would have helped though.

That sucks Lorne!

Fishing wise, the night was tough and it was a grind. Fishoholic and I caught 4 bass. 1 of which wasn't even 12".

All in all the weights weren't bad at all but it was tough to get them.

I'll post some pics and the weights and a bit of a story tomorrow. Hope everyone had fun!

Adam.

Was a grind, not how the river usually delivers but on a windy cool day like that can't expect to much! And I swear that triton was rockin' could of sworn I seen a trail of flames behind him ;) thought he was going to break the sound barrier ahaha

Had a blast once again!
The bite was really hard on our end, the kinda night you don't want to be missing them when they hit.
A fun time regardless, thanks to everyone who came out.

I have to throw this out there,

Almontefisher took off early and did not weigh. Lorne had a boat mishap and did not weigh. Andrew, well I assume he did not catch anything but who knows because he DID NOT WEIGH! :D And Doug Lees, I didn't even see last night but have been told he was there.
Let it also be known that Ed weighed in two fish. That is an impressive weight for two fish on a tough bite like we had last night and Jason weighed in one. One of the other guys (Mike Paquin. I’m sorry if you are on fish hawk, I just don’t know your handle) caught a keeper but let it go at the ramp.
For everyone who came out, thanks a bunch! Participation is what makes these outings fun but I have to be honest and say I need to step up my game if we have that many boats again! 13 boats was a lot and I had a few issues. I was in a rush and forgot to grab something to use to draw blast off numbers. Secondly, my scale died. It must have been pushed up against the wall in my storage compartment because that battery is not even a week old!
I have a few pictures to upload and will do it soon and post the pics at the same time. Unfortunately, I do not have a single pic of any of the fish.

Not too sure when the next one will be but I will let you guys know. There seemed to be a lot of interest for another one last night.

And Deerhunter, Gorgeous boat bud! Was nice meeting you last night.

On a closing note, Fishoholic, it was a pleasure sharing my boat with you last night. We didn’t catch many but the laughs were worth it. That crappie sure was unexpected.

I was looking for Almonte fisher! Dang, I was looking forward to meeting you in person!

And yes Ed and I only got 1 keeper each, that 3rd seemed elusive!!! And I too did not get any fish pics sadly!

Adam, it was a great evening, next time we should try and get a group shot if at all possible. With the exception of those involved in witness protection...

WOW all caps .. are you yelling at me! I had to get off the water at about 8 o'clock last night due to family commitments but I did manage a couple of nice fish .. I missed a monster blowup on my frog .. had I got that one I probably would have spent the rest of my time tracking you down to weigh my fish for me :D

It was my first time this year on the Rideau and I found some great quality weed in some new areas but the bite seemed to be a bit finnicky likely due to the uncharacteristically cool evenings .. is summer over already!

It was great to see the turnout, I got there by water just prior to the blast-off and I could hear the chatter and see the excitement and anticipation on everyone's face ... the token hand-shake between Charles and M-A as the boats passed each other seemed to seal the deal on a side bet or maybe it's just their way of saluting each other ;) .. I'll be sure to plan better next time so I can get there early.

Great job organizing this Adam .. see ya next time.
