Carleton Place

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Carleton Place

Post by cweatherell »

Hey all - I have a few hours to kill while my daughter serves at the LCBO in Carleton Place tomorrow. Suggestions for float tubing nearby? Bass, pike, Muskie ? Fly, spin or bait cast...

And I'll definitely checkout Baitcasters!

If I was float fishing I would hit Appleton or the river below mcneely bridge.
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

Appleton would be great for a tube. Slide over to the left at the base of the rapids and I bet ya catch a pile of Smallies on a fly rod. Make sure you are below the dam, don't want to read about you on the news...

So I hit the water below the dam in Appleton, float tube and fly rod. 8 smallish, no big size but tons of fun.

A few of these guys were in less than a foot of water.

Thx for the tip, and I managed to hit Bait Casters as well.
