Dalhousie Lake this week

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Dalhousie Lake this week

Post by RVOTom »

Having a blast with my family on holidays this week at my old stomping grounds on Dalhousie Lake. So far we have caught a pile of bass, both largemouth and smallmouth. Tuesday the wind really picked up so I took my son to a favourite daytime walleye spot and we landed a couple in the legal size and let a smaller one go to grow. We've had decent luck downstream on the Mississippi River too, catching bass, pike, walleye and lots of pan fish for the kids. I just snuck out on a solo mission and nailed a beauty smallie burning a spinnerbait over the deep millfoil. The only problem I've had so far is now I'm stuck at the dock waiting for my family to return with gas for my empty tank in the boat. life is rough!

Looks like a great time being had by all! Nice stuff.

Beauty smallie too - gotta love those crushing strikes on a spinnerbait!

A good mixed bag of fish you have been getting.

I have to fish Dalhousie Lake sometime soon. My in-laws cottage is downstream from the lake a few miles. I fish the river in the area but never fished the lake.

Thanks guys. We have come to the end of our holidays and I must admit, with the weather finally stabilizing, I don't want to go home! It's been tough fishing with all the cold fronts coming through.

We finished strong and caught a LOT of pike and bass the last couple days. We also kept a couple walleyes tonight that smashed my Carolina rig with a live frog. The second one ate the back half of the frog as I missed setting the hook but cast it right back out and he wanted the front half too! gross but funny, got the job done.
