Weeds, Rocks and Pretty Things...

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Weeds, Rocks and Pretty Things...

Post by BigC »

Have had a couple nice trips out in the past week or so, big fish seem to be moving. Have had a couple nice ones follow and an absolute BEAST come in behind Mike's lure and go around eight times in the 8 only to say cya later. Smaller ones seem to be the only takers, but when you're chuckin muskie baits for 8 hours any fish is a welcome sight.

Little guy that ended a long drought for me.

This one hit two casts after I commented to Mike, "look at this place, it's got weeds and rocks, it's like a Muskie paradise". He also only had one eye which is why his body was a little smaller than his head would indicate.

Then I nabbed this chunker on a rock pile practically right up on shore. Very healthy and very mean, not at all happy.

Getting out again this weekend, here's hoping the Muskies keep coming in the boat and we keep getting to let 'em go and let 'em grow.

Gotta tell ya dude. Watching your progress year after year on the Skies has been a treat to watch. Good on ya.

Good Luck this weekend. The water temp dropped 7 degrees in a week and kinda funked them for a day or two this week. What were HOT follows became lazy dawgs. Things should pick up again this weekend, I hope to get out Sunday.

Thanks RJ, nothing beats time on the water for figuring things out. Still learning every time out.

The water temp dropped 6 degrees from Thursday night to Saturday morning, crazy! Some nice fish were still caught, the one I got wouldn't be considered nice by any stretch but still got on the board on what turned out to be a very very windy day.
