Being as I am mostly fishing shallow dish waters and never really using a drop shot....
I know most people will say use a fluro leader but could one use straight braid and still moderate success? Thanks!

I'm sure you could and you'd still catch fish, but myself I never tie up a DS without a leader.
Question is why don't you want to tie on a leader? If your worried about knots there are plenty of folks out there using a super small swivel to connect the two lines.

I do have any fluoro and I do not use it much...just trying to not spend money on something I would not use more then once or twice a year... Thank you Brad your feedback was great!

I usually just buy a fluorocarbon leader wheel every season, and use it to tie a leader to all my finesse rigs. I've had good luck with a monofilament leader for dropshots, but not very much luck with braid. For me, fluoro just seems to work best though!

Why do y'all suggest floro leader over mono for the drop shot?

Less stretch, better abrasion resistance & it's low visibility characteristics.

Brad knows whats up
If your dropshotting for cats straight braid will work but for fish that feed using sight you should definetly consider it. The clearer the water, the longer the leader

Yup. Try the fluro, you won't go wrong.
