Year End Report, best summer ever!

What I did not know is how it was truly a blessing in disguise.
As I was not working, my wife and I decided we would not put the kids in summer programs and instead it would be Daddy daycare!
What a blast we had, and I also accrued many brownie points with momma, that allowed me to say, "H honey mind if I go fishing?" And always answered with a "Have fun!"
It started in the spring watching the spawn cycle of several different species. From large female Pike courting your hammer handle males, to LMB and Huge Carp thrashing through reeds! I knew right then, I wanted to learn this summer their habits!
So it began, each day I would take a walk or a paddle, and just observe what they would show me.
I really could not wait for the season to begin, so I could learn their movement patterns in my local back bay.
Eventually the soft water season opened and it was game on! Over a span of 3 days, I was blown away with boating 21 pike in my canoe!!!! I never imagined I would have such great succes! And amazingly I only pulled in a couple spawning bass, which I was trying very hard to avoid.
As Bass season opened, it brought out a new game for me, and I am not sure if it was my new higher quality rods I was using this year, the liquid Mayhem or my choice of lures, it turned out to be one of my best fishing seasons ever!
I did not set any PB records for size, but I sure did for volumes caught!
Now, while the fishing was fun, I had one other thing happen this summer.
I got my son Thomas hooked and he spent a lot of time with Dad, and even started nailing some beauties! His secret weapon was an Angry Bird Lure that got him some fantastic results!
Sadly, it all came to an abrupt halt, as I started a new contract at the end of August! Only 1 other fish was had after...
My young lad is looking forward to next year and has added some G Loomis rods to his Xmas wish list (Gulp)
