Pikenanza reloaded! ...and the wind!!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Pikenanza reloaded! ...and the wind!!!!

Post by Peron »

Okay, not exactly Pikenanza but I had the opportunity to get out for a bit today so I went to my pike spot. One bite - one fish:

May not look it from that angle, but measured 29" from tip to tail. That is my PB ice pike so far.

Oh yes.... and the WIND! Anyone brave enough to go out on the Ottawa river tonight, it is crazy with the wind unless it dies down. It is coming right down the river valley and looking out across there are surface white outs from blowing snow. I am glad I did not bother with my pop-up because there is no way I could have managed to get it anchored or collapsed however I was freezing when I left. Happy, but freezing.

Looks like you're putting the hurt on those toothy critters. Way to go

What have you been using for bait?

I am planning on trying pickled herring or smelt on my tip up this week, have you tried this before?
