a splake type of report!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

No brookies in there but splake are stocked that is confirmed and as for the lakers there where some in there so one could very well be a laker! Lakers where original to the lake but from what my buddy said from there they are few and very far between!!

Awesome fishing Marty!! That's a great day.

As for people thinking these are lake trout, please read up on F1 splake back-crossed with lake trout in Ontario.
Result are 75% laker, 25% brookie, but still splake. And they look exactly like Marty's fine Splake samples on display.

Almost certain "back-crossed" splake were only stocked in Georgian Bay / Lake Huron and the last stocking
took place in 1995. It was a pretty controversial program and ended with a pure lake trout agenda.

Wow great fish Lvace, congrats!

As for the splake or lake trout debate, here's my 2 cents: Let's just say that these 2 fish are in fact a cross which is 75% laker and 25% brookie... I can't see 25% brook trout in these fish, I don't see any brook trout characteristics at all... I can only see 100% lake trout here. If these fish are really splake then I don't know what lakers look like anymore. :confusion-confused:

Anymore pictures of the stockers? They all look like lake trout to me.

Nice fish regardless!
