Anyone have Flex Coat locally?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Anyone have Flex Coat locally?

Post by curls »

I need to replace two guides on a pair of rods I have. I have the guides, I just cannot find Flex Coat (the epoxy for finishing the wraps and holding it all into place). Online it's terribly expensive and hard to ship to Canada.
Does anyone have FlexCoat here?
Could I even maybe use a very small amount of your personal stash and compensate with a few beers?

Thanks in advance.

I've had good results using multiple coats of this for rod guide wraps,

Thanks for the link. You don't find that it's too hard/brittle, and doesn't that stuff react (turn yellow/brown) in UV light?
I may try this but would rather have a flexible epoxy vs something hard and brittle.

Try SOFTEX which is used as a flexible head epoxy used in fly-tying.
I think Green Drake carries this.

Thanks - I've emailed them to see what they have and recommend.

Thanks for the replies everyone. A member was able to provide me with a small packet which is exactly what I needed!
