Crazy catfish fun!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Crazy catfish fun!

Post by Peron »

Took my youngest out for his first time fishing for Channel Cats. At 7:45 he hooked his first. Not a big one but he was happy. About 5 minutes later he hooked a bonus sucker that did not want to get landed.

Then the craziness started. Non-stop action until we left at 9:00. I lost count of the numbers and he had some bigger fish but here is a photo of him with an early one before the sun set! Man, that was a lot of fun!!! Two happy fisherman...one young and one not so young

That's awesome.

I have many memories of cat fishing when I was a wee lad with my dad, both of grandpa's, and many great uncles. This is something he won't soon forget.

Just a tip incase the lad gets poked by one of the catfishes spikes that we know can be painful. Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in your tackle box. If you get poked just wash the affected area with it and the pain is gone!!!

Good job on the fun night of catfishing
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

Just wanted to say respect to the kid for his choice of hat!! Great outing, and nice cat for him....and certainly nice to see a young guy paying tribute to the lads that made Canada free.

Nowadays, everyone else is so focused on importing new Canadians that have no clue and don't care about our history and culture..

Missed this post earlier. He has a huge interest in Canadian Military history that actually began with his interest in the American civil war. After he learned about our family history he became very interested in WWI and has started collecting those brutally expensive cast figures to create a trench scene.

Both my Grandfathers (his great-grandfathers) fought in WW1 and one of them was in the 5th Canadian Mounted rifles and fought (and obviously survived luckily for both of us) at both Vimy Ridge and "Wipers" (Ypres).

Lest we forget!
