Shallow Water Walleye

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey,
Was interested to catch your post. I was enjoying some time on the mighty Ottawa Friday and Monday of this beautiful May Long-weekend. Was casting for pike in a few places near Petrie Island. Amidst quite a few (smallish) pike, I was surprized to catch two walleye on my spinner bait in two feet of water. Thought they were lost as I didn't expect to haul a walleye out of two feet of water on a hot sunny day. Seems I ought not have been surprised after all.
Good fishin'.
