Striking Gold!

2 nights, 3 men, 1 dog, 64 walleye boated, many more not.

2 more nights to go.

Largest so far 6lbs9oz.

Being the only guys at camp to put up numbers like that, priceless!

Great stuff boys! Impressive numbers... If it's not dark out, I'm not fishing for walleye. Period.

You guys are doing excellent!!

you mentioned being the only guys in camp putting up the numbers so I assume you are at an outfitters. Curious as to where you are because I book 2 walleye weekends a year for my group and am always looking for new locations within a reasonable 1/2 day drive from Ottawa. If it isn't a public outfitters - no worries - keep the info to yourself

It was an outstanding 115 walleye in the boat! An incredible feat for 3 guys!

No issues with giving up the Camp! It is Camp MacMac and Cliff and Sue Warick are amazing Hosts!!!

It is located on the south west shores of Lake Nippising.

It is a rustic setting, so be prepared!

An interesting fact:

The lure that has always, and I mean always produce huge numbers is a Rapala SR5 in perch.

Not blue Gill, or clown or fire tiger. Not a worm harness, or jig and leech.

We troll at 1.9mph and we all use the same thing. Anyone who doesn't, doesn't catch fish, in any volume. Merely 1 or two a night. Maybe 3 on a school.

I had not fished this weekend, in 4 years and thought ah c'mon. I have lots of lures in a similar profile and heck even colour. It did not matter.

I am not sure if it is the cadence, size, the colour, the sound, or just an overwhelming combination of the three that makes them strike it!

Nippissing is usually rather meh! This year and this report (amongst others) are proof it has it's quality moments.

Great gold rush for ya!
