Barbecue Fishing

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Barbecue Fishing

Post by frogin1998 »

Does anyone know some spots WITHIN THE CITY that allows barbecue while fishing? I know most famous spots have a sign of no fire. Catching fish is not priority, cooking some stuff on charcoal is :)

The bottom of Long Island Locks near Manotick I believe has BBQ pits that you could use, some decent fishing too.

I was wondering this myself, and my search led me to see that you can bbq in any park, so long as you get a permit from the City of Ottawa (http://ottawa.ca/en/residents/parks-and ... ttawa-park)

I don't know where to get one yet, but I will.

Britannia Park has BBQ's permanently installed that you can use, but you are fairly far away from the water. There are always people with Hibatchi's closer to the shore and there is excellent fishing on the point.
