So was it worth the wait?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

So was it worth the wait?

Post by RJ »

Likely the most anticipated day of the year for most, Bass Opener in Ontario.

Rarely am I free to fun fish the full day but lucked out this time.

Hooked up with my buddy Ian and headed to Lake Ontario in search of Smallies, our first stop was a bit of a bust so we were sent scrambling.

Fishing flats in 3 to 5 feet of water for cruising fish we picked away at em until we came across the Motherload. Off one point in 20 minutes we landed 18 Smallies averaging 3.25 lbs. Wicked fun.

The bigger fish we caught were cruisers not nesting but were very eager to get snarly on our tubes and drop shots.

Fun day.

I had a blast fishing White lake with BAA.

Great bunch of guys from what I can see and they are very well organized. I think I'm going to like being part of this club.

Fun day.

When I saw you at Tim Horton's in Smiths Falls I thought for sure you were headed to Big Rideau for the Tournament but when I got off the water around 10 I did not see your truck.

Glad you had a good one.
I was out for Lakers. :D

Glad you had fun!

We had a blast on the Larry. Tubes and drop shots were also working their magic.. Can't wait to get back out...

Best opener I've had in a while..

Was on the St Lawrence for a bit on Saturday and Cranberry/Dog on Saturday, and yes, it was worth the wait. 4.2 was my largest but sure was nice to set the hook. Sundays fishing was for largies. It's been a long time since I targeted them and it sure was fun.

Is it okay to be honest? My opener completely stank! Had the OVSB tourney on BR on Sat. Was a great day, fun-wise, but I caught one bass. Yup. One. All day. Then Sun I was suppose to head to smaller lake where the catching is generally easy, to shake my stink off, and get my mojo back and my buddy who was taking me had engine troubles. Poor friggen guy :( So no fishing Sun.

Fingers crossed last weekend was the (sh~!tty) dress rehearsal and that this Sat I can find a couple of big kahunas! :D
