helix 7 vs 596c hd

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

helix 7 vs 596c hd

Post by laker taker »

Right now I have a hummingbird 596c hd and the screen is getting a little messed up. So I was thinking a new helix 7 might be
in order. Aside from the obvious bigger screen is the helix any better than the old 596 c hd. Also I like the unit to be as simple as possible. Thanks

Should be a bigger screen with a faster processor. Other than that, it should operate in a similar fashion.

Aside from a 7" vs 5" screen, the helix screen is rectangular with the wider portion being horizontal. The 596 is pretty much square. From a strictly feature standpoint though, the two models operate pretty much the same. If you don't have gps in the front of the boat, I would move the 596 to the bow and install the Helix 7 on the console.
As stated earlier you should notice some processing speed improvement on the Helix.
