Smell My Bass - Bass Bites

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Smell My Bass - Bass Bites

Post by cprince »

Hi All!

Been a long time since I have authored a report. To tell the truth; Fishing has been less than spectacular all year for me. It is taking its toll on me, but I think it is making Paul's brain into mush.

I am getting numbers most days, but no real beasts and dealing with a mentally unstable fishing partner is proving difficult to contend with.

Our last outing was fun, and so many say how it is nice to be just out on the water and catching fish is just a bonus, but to us anything less than catching beasts is a failure.

To make matters worse, I am also having a oddly difficult time handling these wiggly little bass-terds the treble hooks are stabbing me left right and center!

Look!

THAT HURTS!

They wiggle around like this when I try to pick them up it's no wonder I am having such a hard time.

And of course, Paul (AKA Bass Addict) is no help being so mentally unstable and it's hard to keep him focused.

I thought maybe getting him to take a pictures would help but this is what I ended up with:

I feel strangely violated.

I had to show him what he needs to catch with his Craw instead of letting him bite it himself:

And this is what he ends up trying to do with the fish.

I hate to think about what is holding that fish up.

In the end, I caught another bunch of unspectacular smallies.

And Paul swamped, rammed then capsized a pedal boat with 3 Girl Scouts and a Brownie who narrowly managed to swim to safety earning their swimming badge.

They aren't terrible fish Craig. Couple of decent ones there. At least that hook wasn't past the barb!

Always love the humour in your posts Craig.

Still looks like you're doing better than me this year!
