Re: Marine Batteries question
I bought my last set at Costco, 4 years and they are still going good.

I would second Costco.
Group 27's are $105 each, compared all over and couldn't find
cheaper, even with my company discount at Total Battery.

Re: Marine Batteries question
Just bought 2 group 27 batteries at Costco. From everything I could find, they are manufactured by Johnson Controls and branded as Kirkland. Johnson Controls is the same company that makes batteries branded as Interstate. Not saying they are the same specs as Interstate batteries, but the price was about $60.00 / battery less. We shall see.

Costco all the way! They perform well and Costco has the most liberal return policy of any retailer in the history of the universe.

Total Battery couldn't match Costco's price, even with a discount!!

Re: Marine Batteries question
AGM batteries are great for those hidden away compartments and the fact that they offer no filling with water.
I currently have 3 on my boat and always recharge after every use with a very good on board automatic 3 bank charging unit that makes things easy.
They are group 31 style AGM's that I bought at Total Battery. The last 2 were on sale and beat the price of any other I could find.

Re: Marine Batteries question
Bought a high end car battery years back from a big very well known Canadian box store. Had a 5 year guarantee. It died within a year and I had lost my receipt. They wouldn't talk to me without a receipt. Their name and date stamp was still on the battery. Been dealing with Total Battery since for vehicle and marine. Any problems, they have all your buying history. (Even without receipts, they honour their guarantee.) Not always a good idea to go with the lowest price.
