ORWL Fishes Centennial Lake -- Kicker Report

The Ottawa Region Walleye League uses combined length of top 5 walleye to determine event and season winners, photographed and released on the spot. I caught this 26.5 inch tank of a Walleye on a gold and silver worm harness behind a bottom bouncer in 22 feet of water. My Shimano Compre 8’3” telescopic Walleye rod and low profile reel proved once again that it was up to the challenge, and the 40lb Power Pro fishing line gave me the tactile feedback I needed to stay just off bottom despite the undulations.
Catching this old girl proved to be the kicker we needed, and she swam off after a couple quick pics just fine! David Mingie and Ian MacLeod made up the rest of the team that day aboard the Ranger 620 FS Fisherman – a real team effort that earned us the win.
Check out this video we made just prior to the big catch explaining the Talking Tackle Depth Whisperer everyone aboard my boat grows dependent on. It eliminates the need to watch sonar screens for depth changes.
