Fizzing Smallie Assistance

I have been shown by someone who knows his stuff, and at the time, I'm like 'got it!!'.... only to find out that when it's *you* poking a hole into a squirming, wet fishes' body, it's a helluva lot tougher than it seems.(I'm not a squirmy type of gal either...I've given many a needle to dogs and cats in school)
I've watched videos, looked at print articles, but after F$!@#ing it up once, am very wary now.
So until someone invents a 'stud finder' adapted to beep when it passes over a fishes' swim bladder, I need help!
