Some fun last week....

Had 3 great days on the water late last week culminating at MSBassin on the Rideau River on Saturday.

Had 2 FH'ers out for a guided Laker day, great conversation and laughs between fish and a howling raging Big Rideau Lake. I've never seen the lake so angry, Spot-Lock was able to hold us in place to make fishing possible. 2 new PB's for the boys...

The next day was a 3 hour trip out on to the Ottawa River for Gar. The program director for Country 101.1 approached me to take their morning show guys (The Unbalanced Breakfast) out to shoot a video of the Gar. These guys are characters! We landed 4 Gar in short order and laid off em as I have a few more guided trips upcoming shortly. Some real nice fish and a great video as a result!

Here's the video, coincidentally to one of our wedding songs...

Saturday had Birdee and I teaming up for MSBassin. Such a great event that we will always support on and off the water. I had snuck out for a look at the river earlier in the week and found some fish. I expected it to be tough and on that afternoon it really wasn't. I shook off a bunch and the ones I couldn't shake off were quality fish included one well over 4 lbs. But to be expected a good pre-fish doesn't mean squat.. Though we caught a pile of fish flippin' mats all day they were 2 lb clones all day for us. We had a blast though as it's one of my favorite ways to fish Bass.

More Gar and Lakers this week...

Can't believe how the day flew by, it was over way too soon.

Already thinking about what we should do next time.

Thanks again for a great day and great Laker action, in August!

Looks pretty fun RJ.

We found fish but not many of them at MS Bassin. It was a fun time for sure though and I will certainly be back next year. Erin on the other hand? We will have to wait and see. She wants redemption bad though!

Those unbalanced Breakfast guys look like they would be a hoot to spend a few hours fishing with!

The MS Bassin looks like alot of fun. Kinda wishin' I would have signed up for it this year. Definitely penciled in for next year...

I was on the Big Rideau on sunday. Winds howling 25-35 kms/hr made it tough to stay on our spots. Sure put the trolling motor to work.

Great pics RJ !
