Caught a neat specimen in the rain , in the middle of the Ottawa river on the weekend.
Got him crappie style, small jig under an indicator.

Nice Mooneye!

Took my cousin out last week and after never seeing one in 10 years on the O, I watched him catch two that day.

Guess they're turning on the feedbag....hopefully that turns on the Muskie real soon.

They tend to hang out in the current under slicks of floating
flying ants and bees this time of year.

Saw them feeding on the surface, and in a flash had a prepared rig out and casted, so was no fluke.
Also now have a new CKA and Kayak Wars record fish to boot.
