Kawartha Muskie Report

Post by Hank Jr »

Just fished a week on Balsam and Sturgeon Lakes with my son for Muskie . We had a good week boated 18 saw another 25 from follows , hits and hooked and lost fish . We caught 2 Tigers on Balsam and a couple Pike . Biggest Muskies were 44" we saw 5 or 6 others over 40" during the week but most were 36' -39" . All were pretty fat only 2 had sores on them . We caught several Bass 2-4 lbs on our Muskie lures but didn't see a Walleye all week we usually see several big ones on our jerk and glide baits . Weather was rainy and cloudy a couple days and one day we fished in tee shirts really warmed up . The week really flew by . Good luck the rest of the season.

Sounds like a good week. Annual trip? I seem to recall a week report around same time last year. Good results, beauty fish and thanks for sharing.

Yes we have been going around the same time the last several years . My son doesn't like earlier because of the jet skiers and water skiers . Oct during the week you almost have some of the lakes to yourself .
