Le Barons: anything left?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Le Barons: anything left?

Post by AuldAnglerSyne »

Was thinking about driving in to LeBarons this week as it closes for good on Saturday. Has anyone been there in the last couple of weeks? Is it worth me driving 45 min to check it out?

I went last week and they had a very very very limited amount of stuff left. I wound up picking up a Live Target bait ball lure, a Berkley crank bait and two bags of Yum grubs for under 15 bucks... But there's way more useless crap there than good stuff, thats for sure.

Ditto what LipperRipper said. Very little left. Got more Rapala crank baits some pop-R baits, plus the HT ice grippers.
By the way last day is this Saturday.. :o

Any fly rods or reels left?

My dad is coming to town on Saturday and was hoping to pickup a new rod and reel at a good price.

I went last week, was still 50% off. Didn't have to drive out of my way, as I was already in Ottawa for business.

I found a rather limited selection, but the good news was, the few items I was hoping would be there, were there. So, I cleaned them out of some specific lures / jigs that I can only find locally there.

Rods and Reels - they had some trolling rod / line counter combos that were priced a meh bit on the high side. And I don't need any more...

Lures - There was still a decent selection of Bomber lures, Cotton Cordell and others, but I don't need any of those. Rapalas too, I did succumb to the temptation and got 10 of my favourite jointed Rapalas - putting them in storage for gifts and will use some of them eventually when the pike bite off my existing supply. They had a good selection of Marmooska jigs.

Survival Suits - they had several XXX-Large Mustang suits

Ammunition was getting thin, most of the popular cartridges / bullet weights were gone. They still had quite a bit of Shotgun ammo.
