Shirleys bay Ice

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Bite appeared to be slow all around. Didn't really ramp up until well after dark.

Lots of vehicles on the ice. There is a lot of white-ice this year.

Was out yesterday from 3pm to 6:30pm about as far out as most vehicles there were a couple full size trucks past my Colorado and I was sitting on about 16" of ice of which from what I could see 10" of clear ice and 6" of snow ice. No action at all for me, time to try live bait.

Big pressure crack at the launch. Runs right along shore. Me and serge the minnow man broke it down on one side so vehicles can pass.
Bite has been good for me. Under 10 feet has produced the most fish for me.

If no one else try's to fix the launch. I'll go out Monday and knock it down. If anyone does decide to use a chainsaw make sure there is no bar oil in it. You don't want the oil getting in the water.

Excellent.

Ramp is just a little rough, but 2wd cars were on the ice yesterday (crazy buggers). Not much slush at all (surprising)

Went out Saturday when we went to get off the ice , the ramp had broken away and made it very rough even if you had 4x4 truck , you had to be moving .
I had talked to lads at the ramp that night that said they where comming back Sunday with a chainsaw to help fix the ramp .
I am not sure if they did or not I haven't been back yet to see if the ramp was any better ? Anyone know ?

Cheers
