What would hawkers recommend for a second fish finder on the front of the boat....???

I currently run a hummingbird Helix 5 with GPS and D.I on the console and want to add a second one on the front of my boat......love it, buttttttttttttttttttttttttttt when Im jigging Lakers it's not picking them up........Is there a reason for this and is there something out there that would be better for this task????

I love my Helix 9 with the bigger screen and it will pic up a 1/2 oz jig in 65 ft water in current. Also nice that you can make your own detailed maps in the area you fish to use later.
