Bay of Quinte Ice Conditions

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Bay of Quinte Ice Conditions

Post by Seany D »

Hello,

I am looking to plan a trip to Quinte, but I want to make sure the Ice is good before I do. I normally fish on Long Reach close to Huff's Point. Anyone know the ice conditions there?

If the Ice isn't good in Long Reach what about Hay Bay?

Thanks in Advance!

Check Quintefishing.com. Lot's of open water around the Bay.

There are some guy's reporting good ice and then subsequent posts say they're wrong. I wouldn't jump on the first post.

February is suppose to be cold, so hopefully thing will tighten up.

I would wait it out for two weeks fella. Maybe next week, but definitely in two weeks. I live here and I'm taking the boat out tomorrow. I can't say first hand if there is still a skim of ice at Huffs, but I would assume it's wide open.
