Petrie island village

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Not particularily. I am aware of the website and aware thst they rent huts bit most of the hutd are not rented. I know that you can store them on land as well.

My question is .......so you have to pay to use the ice road, and fo you have to pay to set up an ice hut in the village.

Thanks anyways

Just found out......no charge to use the road, no charge to set up a portable hut. There is a charge though if you wish to set up a permanent hut. it is $75. That covers the plowing and maintenance of the ice road, security and the use of the washroom facilitys.......I would call Oziles to clarify though.....things can change.... :)

But there you are not under Ontario ice hut regulations. They say when you can use the road. And when you can put your hit on. And when it comes off. I find it's more of a social club.
Shirleys bay has public washroom. No restrictions. Except Ontario ice hut regs. Access is maintained by people who fish there. Loads of fish.
If you have kids Petrie is the place to go. If you want to catch fish. I'd fish Shirleys.
