Any open water panfish?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Any open water panfish?

Post by Troller »

Hi folks,
Has anyone had success catching some pan fish lately on open water ;) ? I am getting ready to head out this weekend. I am not asking where, just if they are biting?

Thanks,
tight lines!

I stopped by a few locks on the Rideau this past weekend but everything was still frozen. Jock river is clear, but I've never caught panfish in there and the water is moving awfully fast.

I'm feeling pretty anxious also! Let us know if you have any luck.

Couple weeks early yet Dave, most lakes are still iced in. I'd start near Kingston for even a sliver of a chance at a fish.

i was getting lots of perch at the Iroquois locks. 90% still frozen but if you drop in the little cracks and ice holes youll catch em!
