Blue Fish Canada, Ottawa Riverkeeper, Oceana Canada, Just Fishing, and Fish-Hawk.Net are pleased to take part in a special screening of Ottawa film creator Lawrence Gunther's wave-breaking documentary, What Lies Below, Wednesday April 26th at Ottawa's Mayfair Theatre (doors open at 6:00 p.m.)
An 80-minute film, What Lies Below presents ten Canadian water quality and fish health stories as revealed by Gunther and his guide dog to document the traditions, concerns, hopes and actions of local and indigenous people who live by and from the water.
Having premiered October 2016 as the closing film at Planet In Focus Film Festival at Toronto’s Hot docs Theatre, the film now features at numerous Canadian and international festivals and is soon to air on both CBC’s Documentary Channel and AMI TV.
Drawing on his Masters in Environmental Studies and extensive commercial and professional tournament fishing experience to create What Lies Below, Lawrence Gunther is also the founder of Blue Fish Canada -- a charity dedicated to the future of fish and fishing, and host of the popular podcast series, Blue Fish Radio.
