Safety this weekend Pike & Wally opener.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Safety this weekend Pike & Wally opener.

Post by plowjock »

Everybody be safe this weekend, water temps are still in the mid to high 40*sF, high water levels, lots of floating debris,( Logs, boards, docks tree branches.)
If many of you are not aware, most of the launches are flooded out and there is a significant change in current flow.
I don't want to read any notices on here about a life lost due to a careless accident.

Great post

If you have to do all sorts of calculations and gymnastics to launch, is it really worth risking everything?

Be smart. Stay safe.

Biggest challenge this weekend will be finding a place to launch your boat, wild.

I've checked out over a dozen launches in the area.
There isn't a launch that I would personally use.
Water levels are so high, current is so swift, and not to mention debris floating down the rivers.
Then you have to try and find fish this weekend, water temps in mid to high 40's*F.
Is the spawn over for the pike and walleyes?
No growth yet for any lily pads that I have found.
