Crappie advice

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Crappie advice

Post by Moobe »

Hi all,

I have a six year old daughter who is bonkers over pan fish. Volume volume volume... not really my preference but.... well the six year old has a way of making it pretty fun. I'm thinking of crappie on the Rideau river I can get a fry on and she can get the action.we are fishing from a boat and I'm looking for a couple spots with a good chance of success (private message if you want to keep it secret  ). And since I really don't fish for crappie any advice on tackle bait and techniques is welcome. I'll post pics and give credit to any advise that got our lines tight!

Thanks
Moo

May be a bit late on the Rideau but your best bet is to look on google earth. Incoming creeks and shallow bays with emerging weed will all hold fish. 2 inch tube jigs under a slip float will always do the trick.
