Long Weekend Crappies

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Long Weekend Crappies

Post by Markus »

The last chapter of my ontario meat treat fishing mission was crappie fillets.

I cant remember the last long weekend I had where I wasnt crappie fishing in south eastern ontario. RJ and Birdee always open their home to me and this year my wife was visiting from NS as well and she joined us for an afternoon on the water.

Weather was cooler then expected, but no rain, so it was more then comfortable out on the water. We worked deeper weed beds and rocky points and had a great day fishing. We kept enough for a great fish fry and threw back the rest. I was impressed with the quality of fish...no little dinks at all. I find crappie fishing so much fun!

Cant thank RJ and Birdee enough....they definitely have the fishing dialed in. A little knife work and a bit of vacuum sealing...mission complete. So much fun.
