WFN.....What happened??

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

WFN.....What happened??

Post by plowjock »

Was watching WFN last night everything was good. Tried to get it back on this afternoon, Roger's is not carrying it anymore. Guess I'll spend more time watching the Blue Jays now.

Just tried a google search and didn't find any announcement saying they dropped the channel. Will try when I get home tonight.

For some reason it was decommissioned in Ontario yesterday. I will try to get more info on the reason why.

If you go to the WFN website and look at the carriers of WFN for the Ottawa area, there is NO mention or showing of Rogers at all.
There are many other carriers of WFN but not Rogers. I figure there mustn't be enough interest for Rogers to carry it.
I wonder how all the other fishing dudes who watch WFN feel about it being dropped.
I've been a subscriber to it for 3 or 4 years now.

Wallyboss, I don't think you will find anything, or hear anything. I think maybe Canadian content had slipped below a certain percentage.
Thanks for looking into it. Greatly appreciated.

Same issue with me... I called Rogers and they told me that the only way to get WFN now is to subscribe to it online directly with them. They also told me that no other competitor (ie. Bell) offers this channel either. I haven't had a chance to shop around to see if that's true or not.

From what I heard WFN was bought out and Rogers is in contract negotiations.

Larry might be right, it sure looks like it's licensing issue. Rogers is still carrying it in New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
