Need help finding a spot for drop shotting on rideau

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Need help finding a spot for drop shotting on rideau

Post by Moobe »

Hey all.
I have had ZERO luck finding any walleye on the rideau. I'm new to drop shotting and really want to find a few spots so my daughter and I can pull a few walleyes. I wanted to find a technique that a 7 year old can have some success - she is ready to move on from sunfish. And advice or help with pointing me in the right direction would GREATLY be appreciated.

Thanks
Moo

I'm not the best at locating walleye, but finding areas in about 8-10 fow with a drop to 15-20 fow seems to work for me.
On Lake Mississippi anyways.

Good luck!

I've been told that the Strandherd bridge, around and under, is a good spot. strictly hearsay though but good luck.

There is a deep hole just north of Kelly's Landing around the Manotick Marina that is sure to hold Walleye. Several years ago got a 7 pounder in there fishing for bass.
