Had a chance for another session today so I hit my Drum spot on the Nation River. Water level was higher than usual and there was a no end to the amount of drum that were holding.
I lost count of how many I caught but the largest couple were in the 22 inch range and were coming in at about 4 to 5 pounds. They are a riot on the ultralight gear.
Also caught my first walleye of the year (just a baby):
A couple of shorthead redhorse:
My first Silver Redhorse of the year:
Was hoping for a Mooneye but none showed up today.
Conspicuously absent from this spot this year: Channel Catfish, Brown Bullhead, and Carp.
Another fun session....

Way to go Zippy, I always enjoy your reports. You chase those exotic species that most of us have never targeted. A nice breath of fresh air on Fish-Hawk report-wise.
Walleye'm fishing, you're sleeping.

Very cool! I've always wanted to try and catch some Drum, I think they'd be a blast!

Beautiful variety of fish. Thank you for showing us & sharing this. I have never caught Drum, looks like it would be a blast!
