First Brookie - Is a good one

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

First Brookie - Is a good one

Post by scarkner »

My goal this summer was to really learn how to catch more trout and a wide variety. So I was happy today to cross Brook Trout off my list with this great specimen which measured about 16 inches.

Still haven't cracked the code on jigging for Lake Trout on my cottage lake, but if I can keep catching Brookies and Rainbows elsewhere then maybe the Lakers don't matter :-)

Sadly, I am sworn to secrecy on that one (seriously). But I have been hitting back lakes all week using Fish-Online and the Crown Land atlas to scout good lakes. Absolutely incredible how many we have to explore and how many I have found that are holding nice populations of trout.

Very nice brookie sir! Is that crown land atlas available for free online or you had to go buy a physical copy?
