Fish-Hawk.Net

So many guys go to fishing locations like Nipigon, Fraser River, Great Slave Lake, ect to fuel their fishing egos and the hero shots....but for me, there's no better place on earth to refuel your soul then the east arm of Great Slave Lake. The remoteness and living with the rawest of nature just isnt possible in a lot of other places.

My cousin lives in Yellowknife and this would be my 2nd trip to enjoy his hospitality. Rounding out or 10 day vacation crew would be 2 more cousins, a best bud from home in NS and 2 family fiends that also live in Yellowknife. My cousin just purchased a new boat and we were thrilled to help him rig it up and break it in.
All packed, we headed out of Yellowknife and made the 5 hour boat ride to the east arm. We had planned to leave the following morning, but the lake was flat when we walked off the plane, so we walked right onto the boat.

Fishing was what you'd expect from a trophy fishery like this - monster trout, monster pike, beautiful grayling, double headers, triple headers....

Camp life was the highlight of the trip. We set up tents on a small island and when we werent fishing, we were eating. Lunch was always a fresh fish fry and supper was a protein we brought from NS.
The scenery up there is breath taking. The cliffs were my favorite....you could fish right up to them and the water was still 100 feet deep.
My soul was recharged and i'll be looking forward to getting back again in the future. Sharing these trips with family and friends makes it that much more special. I'm blessed to have such great friends and life long bonds with people who are so like minded.

Photobucket started this a few weeks ago. They want big bucks to update your account to allow third party hosting. Most folks are switching to imgur or flickr from what I've read, although there does seem to be the odd account like mine where it still works.

1. I did a trip a few years back to the East Arm and it was AWESOME!!!

It is free but it is not fast nor particularly user-friendly. But if an old fart like me can figure it out, it can't be all that hard.

This was our biggest laker of that trip, weighed 42 pounds. My buddy who caught it has a 56" chest, for size comparison...........



As I said, it was an awesome trip and I would love to get back there some day.

I hear you Steve, it sure would be nice to be able to upload pics right from the pc like most other sites, but so be it. I assume it's just not possible with the web service program they use. I can just imagine what Bunk had to go through posting pics here with his mega reports. Now he just links to his own site.
I think photobucket is shooting themselves in the foot with this money grab. Plus their site was acting up lots it seems. Many folks will just switch to another.

yes sir, it was.

When it went under the boat before we landed it, all three of us said, "HOLY ********!!!!!"

and it lived to fight another day! It is probably fifty pounds now...............
