Shore fishing around Collingwood or Thornbury in summer

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Shore fishing around Collingwood or Thornbury in summer

Post by Whateverbites »

Hi all,

Going to be in Collingwood this week for vacation amd was hoping to do some shore fishing in the general area.

Searched pretty thoroughly, but all the topics were in the Spring when trout or salmon are running. Just wondering if anyone has any general suggestions of places to go, preferably any rivers or tributaries or places where you aren't fishing at a marina or some other crowded place. Willing to put some work in to get somewhere if it's nice. I'm happy fishing for anything. Thanks!

I suggest you drive up to Owen Sound, not that far really, and drop in at Watson's Tackle House. Drew can probably suggest some alternatives for you.

It has to be said that the main fishing in that neck of the woods is for trout and salmon, and July from shore is not generally productive.

Good luck!
