Algonquin park
Algonquin park
Looking for some advice. I was planning a spring fishing trip, but that got cancelled, so I was wondering if the fishing is good in the fall, before thanksgiving?

Yeah, it can be good fishing in the Park at this time of year, depending on where you're going, what you're targeting, and your fishing methods/skills. A bonus is that the bugs are gone. I'm planning to hit the more remote splake lakes in the Madawaska area in September and will be trolling, either with leadcore if the water's still warm on the surface, or with mono if it's cooled down enough. I leave the brook trout streams alone at this time of year because the fish are already getting full of roe or milt.

What did you want to target? Where in the park were you hoping to go?kevinv wrote:Looking for some advice. I was planning a spring fishing trip, but that got cancelled, so I was wondering if the fishing is good in the fall, before thanksgiving?
Fishing *can be excellent in the fall. *adds a million caveats
