Silvers, and Shortheads and Greaters, Oh My!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Silvers, and Shortheads and Greaters, Oh My!

Post by zippyfx »

I got a chance to go out this afternoon and I was not disappointed. Alot of action was had:

I caught 2 silvers:

2 Shortheads:

My lifer Greater! He breached three times and was a tank at 25 inches.

There were two other big fish on that I lost. One picked up the bait as I was reeling it back in and the other picked it up on the drop just after the cast (before the lead hit the bottom). One flipped the hook the otherone broke the line before I got a good look. It was a wide dark grey flank. May have been a walleye.

I also picked up a bonus walleye:

And a mit full of bait stealing perch:

To round the day out at five species.

Conspicuously absent were white suckers, carp, bullhead.

Coarse fishing at it's finest for our area.
