2018 - Lakers & Eyes on ice

A good season... caught a decent number of fish across a few outings, several different lakes to mix things up a bit. Mostly targeted lake trout, but a few walleye as well. Lakers are a personal favourite through the ice, and they cooperated, some smaller 3s, some nice 6-9s and ... a few biguns came airside too.
This ice season I switched to an inline reel, I like the absence of line twist and the free-fall. The new reel had it's drag put to the test more than once... and it passed. Smooth drag, which made some screeching noises a few times... but that was a good thing
Several lakers this size for the cedar plank on the BBQ
25" walleye with a bloody nose
Lakers... Hit hard and fight hard... THUMP!!
Tanks for the memory...
Then... this... 35"x 20" squeezed through an 8" hole. A new PB
Ice WAS good this winter, trout have bit, reel peel happened, and records were broken, twice.
A good season, which now appears to have reached it's end.
