31 Mile Lake Boat Launch

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

The closest boat launch on 31 Mile lake:

You go on 105 pass Gracefield. Pass Shell gas station.
Turn right on Chemin de point Comfort.
Turn left on Chemin de la Baie Matte.
End of this unpaved road is boat launch to 31 Mile lake.
Washroom is there.
See attached file.
Good luck.

a) Is overnight parking allowed at the Baie Matte launch?
b) Is there sufficient parking at this spot?.
Just a follow-up. We just got back from 3 nights of camping, weather was beautiful and the lake was fantastic.

The answer to a) is that no overnight parking is allowed. I learned this after reading the sign upon returning. There was no ticket, apparently it's enforced by the Surete, so if they don't show up you don't get a ticket. Definitely park at your own risk though. Next time I will park at the Village Majopial where there is paid overnight parking. The answer to b) is that there's a lot of parking available. We arrived on Saturday around 11 and it was pretty busy, but even still there were lots of spaces.

The launch was fine. We had no problems getting our 16' tinny in and out. There were decent sized fiberglass boats (~18-20ft) being launched, so outside of a large cabin cruiser there should be no issues. The launch at Village Majopial was notably steeper/deeper.

We didn't fish a ton, but my 10 year old caught this bass. And we caught this sunset.

Hi Guy's
Was at the Bay Matte Launch on the weekend, great launch concrete slab with an aluminum dock on the side. Free parking overnight and all. I parked there from sat morning till Sunday afternoon.

Cheers

Hi Guy's

To clarify there is no overnight parking at the launch area itself but \ you can park in the large open area just as you arrive to the launch. The signs are a bit confusing but consulted with a few other local campers.

Fantastic, thanks for the clarification. Agreed that the signage is a little confusing.
